Bali!
After my visit to Yogyakarta I was finally on my way to Bali to meet my father and my sisters for the first time in my life! Strangely enough I was not as nervous at all as I was in Jakarta, probably because this time they already knew that I was coming and I had some time to prepare myself for the moment. Of course I still had some butterflies flying around in my stomach but my dad gave me the longest hug ever, like he didn´t want to let go...sometimes I still think it´s all a bit surreal that I found him and hole new family!
After a few days my brother and some friends came over and we all went for dinner together to see my father play at work. It was nice to see him so happy while he was singing.
I celebrated my first birthday overseas in Bali! My sisters and their mother had prepared the food together in traditional indonesian way with Tumpeng , rice in shape of a cone surrounded by different kind of dishes. The top is cut of and traditionally given to the most "important" person, which could be the oldest, leader of the group or such, as kind of a thank you. My relatives in Jakarta had sent me gifts and written some notes for me, it almost made me cry (yes I´m very emotional sometimes, or most of the time actually ;)). My dad was working but came later that night and I got some silver-earrings as birthday present which I wear almost every day now. It was a great birthday having everyone gathered!

Had some bakingtime with my sisters and made chocolatepavlova with strawberries:
First time riverrafting! It was fun and we had such great views on the way but the best part of it was probably when my sister fell into the water ;)
Drove around the beautiful surroundings of Ubud; riceterraces, temples, craftwork
"Monkeyforest" in Ubud
One of the monkeys were playing basketball with the coconut
Grandpa, veeeeery tired monkey:

I wanted to take my sisters out for a karaokenight but when we were about to go we discovered that we had a flat tyre, bad luck! My sister and her friend took out the manual and tried to figure out how to fix the problem, in the meantime I was very helpful taking pictures of them in action, not very appreciated ;)
It was time for some adventure again, climbing up mount Batur to watch the sun rise! Since we had to start at 5 in the morning we arrived the night before the climb and stayed at this place which looked so much nicer on the outside then on the inside;
We were told the climb would take about 1½ hour but it took more like 3 hours. We made it all the way but were freezing and starving (at least me ;)) when we finally reached the top so it felt great having some warm breakfast
Me and my friend Vila went on a trip to Lombok and Gili-islands for a few days on her moped!
Lomboks coastline was so beautiful with almost no people around
In Gili Trawangan there´s no cars or motorbikes at all which makes it a lot more peaceful and cleaner then Kuta
Snorkelingtrip to Gili Air
I can´t get enough of fresh foodmarkets, it´s full of life and colours!
Lombok
Me and Vila returned to Bali and after sitting on a motorbike for hours and hours we thought we deserved to have a massage the next day. We got the hole kit, sauna, bodyscrub and one hour of massage, you can´t be anything but relaxed after a treatment like that!
I had only tried sushi a few times before and didn´t really enjoy it that much but my sisters love it so we went to a restaurant were we ordered all different kinds of sushi to try out, it was sooo good!
Went on a short trip to Amed where I wanted to go diving as I read that they have a shipwreck to explore there, we didn´t have enough time to do it but I still enjoyed the time staying at this beautiful place:
I had my father trying to teach me how to play guitar, it was so fun and he forgot that he had to work so we got interrupted by his boss calling and asking where he was!
Of course I tried surfing in Bali, it was a must! I thought it would be so difficult and that I would just be lying there not being able to get up but it was easier than I thought to stand up on the board. The difficult part was how to get the surfingboard to go where I wanted it to, but I leave that for my next visit!
